Thank You, Lady Anne!

Friends — I’ve been trying to collect my thoughts regarding the passing of legendary author, Anne rice.

To the world (and myself for a large part of my life) she was a world-famous author, but to me (since 2015) she was simply my friend Anne.

I sent her an email one day, and to my surprise, she responded. I was ecstatic! Then she asked if she could purchase a copy of my collection of poetry which went on sale the same week as her novel, “Beauty’s Kingdom”. You can imagine how surreal it was to have Anne Rice buy MY book. She said she wanted to support me. And friends, that is exactly what Anne always did—she supported her indie authors. Again and again.

I’ve spent the past couple of days crying and re-reading the hundreds of email conversations we have shared over the past six years. The timing never worked out for me to meet her in person, but she became as good a friend as any I’ve ever had.

She was one of THE most generous people I’ve ever encountered, and I will always cherish the many personally autographed books she has gifted me, and of course all the wisdom she has shared with me and so many other writers.

Sending my condolences and prayers to her son Christopher, her sister, and the multitudes of other friends and fans out there. We are blessed.

I will always love you, Lady Anne. ❤️
